We focus one hundred percent on planning software that can be used by planners, sales people, customer service agents, and manufacturing personnel to organize their activities efficiently and avoid costly planning mistakes.

Our Background

PlanetTogether is the culmination of twenty five years of academic and industry focus on production scheduling systems. Our beginnings were in Ithaca, New York at Cornell University. Two Cornell Professors, Dr. William Maxwell and Dr. Richard Conway wrote Theory of Scheduling, the definitive book on production scheduling. This book was rooted in years of research and formed the basis of a software product and a company formed by Conway and Maxwell in the 80's, C-WAY Systems Inc, later acquired by Epicor Software. C-WAY's Production Reservation System was installed in companies throughout the world. PlanetTogether founders, Jim Cerra and Larry Hargis, worked for many years under the guidance of Conway and Maxwell and released PlanetTogether in the Microsoft.NET architecture in 2004 thus making available the rich functionality designed and tested over many years combined with the best technology available today.
