We focus one hundred percent on planning software that can be used by planners, sales people, customer service agents, and manufacturing personnel to organize their activities efficiently and avoid costly planning mistakes.
We have a solid academic foundation, the underpinnings of an effective scheduling system of applied theories. PlanetTogether's beginnings were in Ithaca, New York at Cornell University. Two Cornell Professors, Dr. William Maxwell and Dr. Richard Conway wrote a ground-breaking book about production scheduling, entitled Theory of Scheduling. This book was rooted in years of research and formed the basis of a software product and a company that they formed in the mid 80's, C-WAY Systems Inc. C-WAY's PRS: Production Reservation System was installed in hundreds of companies throughout the world and was sold and supported directly by C-WAY as well as by various ERP companies and resellers. Our educational foundations are in Operations Research and Computer Science. We studied and worked closely for twelve years with the leaders, Dr. Richard Conway and Dr. William Maxwell, in the field of production scheduling.
