Job materials specify which materials are required to be used within the job's operations. Job materials are usually imported but modified from the Jobs dialog under the "Stock Materials" tab.
Users can modify existing material requirements by changing the fields and options within this tab. Note: Only the fields in white can be edited. New material requirements can be added to the operation by clicking on the "New Stock Material Requirement" button.
The following fields can be edited in this tab:
- Material Item: The item to be used as a material for the operation. A drop-down menu lists items defined in the inventory.
- Warehouse External Id: If set, the materials to be used must come from the specified warehouse. If committed, the material requirements can be satisfied from any warehouse accessible by the plant of the primary resource performing the work.
- Constraint Type: Indicates whether the material requirement should prevent its operation from starting before the material arrives. Material constraints will affect all scheduling processes (Optimize, Move, Compress, etc.)
- Non-Constraint: The material does not have any effect on the scheduling of the operation. The material requirement is informational only.
- Constrained by Earlier of Lead Time or Available Date: The operation cannot start until the earlier of the material's Available Date or the Clock + Lead TimeSpan.
- Constrained by Available Date: The operation cannot start until the Available Date is defined or material can be issued from inventory.
- Total Required Quantity: The amount of material to be consumed by the operation. The full quantity is required at the beginning of each activity for it to be scheduled to start.
- Issue Complete: If checked, the material has already been issued for the job. Therefore, materials are considered available and are no longer treated as constraints.
- Issued Quantity: The issued quantity can be specified here if not all required materials have been issued.
- Use Overlap Production: If checked, a job is allowed to start even if not all material has finished being produced for manufactured materials.
- Use Overlap Purchases: If checked, then a job is allowed to start even if not all material has arrived but is projected to arrive on time to satisfy the operation cycles for purchased materials.
- Tank Storage Release Timing: If the material is drawn from a tank resource, these values can be used to indicate the timing of when the tank is emptied.
- Not Tank: Not expected to be drawn from a tank.
- At Activity Start: Release the tank when the activity consuming the material starts.
- At End of Activity Setup: Release the tank when the activity consuming the material has finished being set up.
- At End of Processing: Release the tank when the activity consuming the material has finished processing.
- At End of Post Processing: Release the tank when the activity consuming the material in the tanks has finished its post-processing.
- Material Allocation: This field specifies how material lots are allocated.
- Not Set: No Lot Allocation rules are set.
- Use Newest First: Material requirements will pull from the latest (most recent) material source.
- Use Oldest First: Material requirements will pull from the earliest (oldest) material source.
