Performance Tracking

Key Concepts

In PlanetTogether, users are able to track production performance at either the job level or at the resource level. Performance Tracking in PlanetTogether is beneficial for businesses as it allows better visibility into the accuracy of the standard lead times and the cycle efficiency of the production equipment. With a large enough sample size, performance tracking can help set a more accurate standard lead time which will help set more realistic expectations and improve customer satisfaction.

In addition, performance tracking of resources can help generate more accurate and optimal schedules. By being able to manipulate the Cycle Efficiency of resources to more closely model reality, the planner and/or scheduler can make informed decisions to replace a machine or schedule maintenance to improve its performance.

Performance tracking depends on the Reported Hours (setup, run, post-processing) and Reported Quantities (good and scrap) of operations that are marked as "Finished". The status of an operation can be manually updated in PlanetTogether or imported from an ERP system. PlanetTogether will then compare the expected hours and quantities with the actual hours and quantities reported to provide a performance report.

Resource Performance

The Resource Performance monitor tracks the number of setups, runs, and post-processes that have occurred to generate a performance score. This is done by comparing the expected run hours and quantities to the expected hours and quantities, where the standard is 100%. Resources that are performing slower than standard will have performance scores above 100% while resources performing faster than standard will have performance scores below 100%.

The Resource Performance monitor can be accessed from the Gantt toolbar under the "Reports" drop-down menu.

Job Performance

Jobs that have Reported Hours and Reported Quantities running longer than the expected average will be marked in the Jobs view as "Slow Performance" Jobs.
