PlanetTogether V12: The Future of APS Has Officially Arrived
When we set out to build PlanetTogether V12, we weren’t just thinking about features. We were thinking about people, the planners juggling deadlines, the operators adapting to shifting priorities, the teams striving to stay aligned in an increasingly complex manufacturing environment. V12 is more than a software update. It’s a reimagining of what Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) should feel like in 2025 and beyond.
With V12, the first thing you notice isn’t just what's on the screen — it’s what’s not there. Cluttered menus, buried views, and outdated interfaces have been replaced by a clean, intuitive user experience. Personalized Workspaces put the right information in front of the right users at the right time. Whether you’re checking this morning’s production priorities or planning out the next few weeks, everything feels responsive, relevant, and easy to navigate. This is not an incremental upgrade from Version 11, it’s a wholly new platform, rebuilt from the ground up to better reflect the way manufacturing teams work today.
Smarter Scheduling with Built-In Intelligence
One of the defining qualities of V12 is its adaptive scheduling logic. The system now includes Auto-Split Operations, which intelligently distributes workloads across available resources to optimize throughput. Resource Optimization by Score helps teams dynamically evaluate and assign work based on custom scoring logic in real time. You can now model sequence-dependent cleans using Clean Process Modeling, complete with configurable triggers, ensuring even the most nuanced processes are respected during planning.
These features are designed to do more than automate — they help planners respond faster and more accurately in a real-world environment, where changes are constant and precision matters.
A Modern UI for a More Productive Day
V12 introduces a redesigned interface built with clarity and productivity in mind. Dockable boards, a streamlined sidebar navigation, and Workspace Profiles enable users to tailor their planning experience around their unique roles and tasks. Whether you're deep in scheduling or reviewing high-level scenarios, you’ll find fewer distractions and faster access to the tools that matter most.
New dynamic grids support inline editing, conditional formatting, and bulk updates, giving users powerful capabilities in a spreadsheet-like environment — but fully embedded into the APS logic. Scenario handling has also been improved, with faster switching and new options for sharing and collaboration across teams.

Cloud-Native Tools and Real-Time Analytics
Teams running PlanetTogether in the cloud gain access to a suite of web-based tools that extend scheduling visibility far beyond the office. The Web App provides a live, browser-based Gantt chart for schedule monitoring, and a real-time dispatch list designed for mobile users and shop-floor staff.
Most notably, Power BI–integrated dashboards allow you to track KPIs such as bottlenecks, equipment utilization, downtime patterns, and order performance. You can assess the financial implications of changes in the schedule, monitor load versus available capacity, and model future planning scenarios — all in one place. These tools give decision-makers a complete picture of operations from anywhere.

Resilient Architecture, Simplified Maintenance
Under the hood, V12 is a major leap forward in terms of stability and scalability. The platform now runs with just one Windows service per instance, compared to five in V11, reducing server demands and making deployments more efficient. A web-based Instance Manager provides real-time visibility into system health and usage, making it easier for administrators to manage large-scale environments.
Additionally, a new recordings-based startup model ensures more reliable data recovery after outages, making the platform more robust in high-availability settings. These infrastructure-level improvements are vital for companies scaling their operations and expecting APS to perform as reliably as any mission-critical system.
Planning Your Move to V12
Migrating to PlanetTogether V12 isn’t a patch — it’s a meaningful transition. While data from V11.50.20+ scenarios can be brought over, users will need to recreate optimization rules, user permissions, and system settings. The good news is that this is a chance to eliminate technical debt and take advantage of cleaner, more flexible data models. Some legacy features like DevExpress reports and in-app chat have been retired, while others have been reinvented in smarter, more integrated ways.
PlanetTogether’s Customer Success and Professional Services teams are here to make this transition smooth. From assessing your existing setup and planning integrations, to onboarding and training, we help you take the leap with clarity and confidence. On average, migrations require just 10–25% of the time and effort of a full implementation.

PlanetTogether V12 is our boldest step forward yet. It’s not just faster or prettier — it’s smarter, more adaptable, and built with the people who use it every day in mind. In a world that rewards speed, precision, and visibility, this is the platform that helps manufacturers stay one step ahead.
